The Honorable Robert H. Robinson Jr., Judge
The Honorable Robert H. Robinson Jr. was appointed to the Superior Court of Delaware by Governor John Carney on February 5, 2021.
Judge Robinson received his Juris Doctor from Washington & Lee University School of Law where he was an associate editor of the Capital Defense Journal and served as president of the Public Interest Law Students Association. He received his undergraduate degree from Hampden-Sydney College and a master's degree in Philosophy from Boston College. Following law school, he returned to Sussex County and clerked for the Honorable T. Henley Graves of the Superior Court.
Before joining the bench, Judge Robinson practiced law as an associate with O'Leary Law Offices and Wilson, Halbrook & Bayard, where he specialized in civil litigation, commercial transactions, real estate, and planning and zoning. Judge Robinson also served as assistant solicitor for several municipalities. In 2006, Judge Robinson joined the Public Defender's Office and became Division Head of the Sussex County office in 2014. While he maintained a felony trial caseload in Superior Court, Judge Robinson also handled matters in the Family Court, the Court of Common Pleas, and the Delaware Supreme Court.
A native of Georgetown, Delaware, Judge Robinson graduated from Sussex Central High School and remains active in his community. He previously served as an Associate Member of the Board of Bar Examiners. He also served as secretary of the Sussex County Bar Association for many years and twice served as Co-Chair of the Combined Campaign for Justice. Judge Robinson is a member of the Terry-Carey Inn of Court.
Judge Robinson's current term ends on February 5, 2033.
