The Honorable Jeffrey J Clark, Judge
The Honorable Jeffrey J Clark was appointed to the Superior Court by Governor Markell and began service on April 10, 2015; he was appointed Kent County Resident Judge by Govenor John Carney on May 17, 2021.
He graduated from Smyrna High School and then attended the United States Military Academy at West Point. After his commissioning and completion of his active duty service as an armor officer, he graduated, summa cum laude, from Widener University School of Law in 1996. He also served as a Wolcott Law Clerk for the Honorable Maurice Hartnett with the Delaware Supreme Court.
He practiced law for 18 years with Schmittinger and Rodriguez, PA, in Dover. While there, his practice included personal injury, criminal, and commercial litigation. During that time, he also served as an attorney for the Delaware State Senate from 1997 through 2002, and as Chief Attorney for the Senate from 2002 through 2012.
He served as a member of the Smyrna School Board for 15 years, including three terms as its President. He also was a Commissioner on Delaware's Public Service Commission from 2005 until his appointment to the Superior Court. He served as an editor for the Delaware Law Review for a number of years, and also served for two terms as a member of Delaware's Preliminary Review Committee for the Board of Professional Responsibility.
Judge Clark's present term expires on May 17, 2033 (original term expired April 10, 2027).
