Family Court Resource Centers
The Family Court Resource Centers (located in the Leonard L. Williams Justice Center, and the Kent and Sussex Family Courthouses) provide litigants with a central location where they can find resources they need. At the Resource Centers, litigants have access to a wide range of resources including: court forms and instructions, educational materials, a data bank of attorneys, computers, and other equipment to enable litigants to prepare for their cases at one location. Visit Family Court for hours and locations.
Limited Legal Assistance Program (New Castle County)
The Limited Legal Assistance Program, coordinated by the Administrative Office of the Courts, provides 15 minutes of free legal assistance. Volunteer attorneys meet with eligible self-represented litigants for a one-time 15 minute meeting. The attorney will not meet with the self-represented litigant outside of the program and will not represent the litigant in court. There is no minimum income requirement for this service. For more information or to make an appointment, contact the Limited Legal Assistance Program at 302-255-0476. Low-cost consultations are also available through Delaware Volunteer Legal Services' Lawyer Referral Service.
Justice of the Peace Court Speakers' Bureau
The Justice of the Peace Court has developed a Speakers Bureau, consisting of Judges and court staff to speak to local organizations about the procedures of the Court. The list of topics (below) include civil procedure, criminal proceedings, history of the court and employment. There is no charge for a speaking engagement and our hope is to help the community better understand the processes and procedures of the Court so that individuals can more effectively use our court without confusion or frustration. Visit the Justice of the Peace Court page for more information.
Delaware Legal Link
Hosted by Legal Services Corporation of Delaware, Inc., the goal of Delaware Legal Link is to bring together legal resources in the State of Delaware and to provide the public with easier access to legal information and resources.
