Court Interpreter Program
Continuing Education
All interpreters listed in the Delaware AOC Court Interpreter Registry (certified and otherwise qualified) are required to complete 12 (twelve) hours of Continuing Education every two (2) years to remain listed in the Registry. The twelve hours must include three (3) hours in ethics for court interpreters and three (3) hours in skills building- modes of interpretation from live, instructor-led courses (in person or remote). The current two-year compliance period ends December 31, 2023. More information is available in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
To streamline the process of reporting CEUs to the AOC, on January 1, 2021 the Court Interpreter Program changed the way interpreters report their CE hours. Please review the Delaware Court Interpreter Continuing Education Handbook for instructions and examples. The handbook also includes a blank Compliance Form.
To request a copy of the CE Handbook, a blank compliance form or a copy of the CE Policy, email your request to the Coordinator.
