New Castle County
The Leonard L. Williams Justice Center Parking Garage is attached to the Courthouse. If you park in the garage attached to the Courthouse, be aware that depending how long you are in the courthouse your fee can be from $2 to $11.
The Leonard L. Williams Justice Center Parking Garage is attached to the Courthouse. There are two entrances to the garage. One on Walnut Street between 5th and 6th Streets under the vertical sign that spells P-A-R-K, and the other off King Street, between 5th and 6th Streets.
Both entrances are marked with large signs spelling out the word park, P-A-R-K. Remember, if you park in the garage attached to the Courthouse you have pay for parking.
To reach the Leonard L. Williams Justice Center from Martin Luther King Boulevard (Exit 6 in either direction off I-95). Exit onto Martin Luther King Boulevard, follow the signs for City Center. Once you pass the sign for North Center City, go through three lights. When you come to the fourth light, the road is split by a median. Stay to the left of the median and go through the fourth light (at the corner of Fourth and Walnut Streets). After you go through the light, the third driveway on your left will be the entrance to the Leonard L. Williams Justice Center parking garage. The entrance is directly under the large white sign spelling out the word park - P-A-R-K. If you miss this entrance, keep driving until you reach the next corner. Turn left at the corner, then turn left again onto King Street. You will see a driveway on your left as you approach the Courthouse that will lead you to the garage.
Kent County
The city of Dover Municipal Parking Lot is located on Water Street between State Street and Governor's Avenue. It is conveniently located within walking distance of the Kent County Courthouse (38 The Green). The Municipal Parking Lot on Water Street is now a FREE.
In addition, there is also street parking on New Street and on Bank Lane, west of Governors Avenue.
There is also a Parking Lot located at the corner of William Penn and Water Street which has free parking available. This lot is approximately 2 blocks from walking the Courthouse.
Please Note: Do not park in "Permit Only," "2-Hour Parking" or "1-Hour Parking" spaces.
Sussex County
You may park on South Race Street, the street that runs behind the Courthouse. However, the parking spaces closest to the courthouse have parking meters. You can find non-metered on-street parking further down the street (proceed through the intersection heading south toward Union Cemetery).
You may also park on Pine Street which intersects with South Race Street, as well as along North and South Railroad Avenue.
