Judicial Officers
The Delaware Court of Chancery is a non-jury trial court that serves as Delaware's court of original and exclusive equity jurisdiction, and adjudicates a wide variety of cases involving trusts, real property, guardianships, civil rights, and commercial litigation. The Court of Chancery consists of one Chancellor, six Vice Chancellors, and three Magistrates in Chancery. The Chancellor and Vice Chancellors are nominated by the Governor and must be confirmed by the Senate for 12-year terms. The Chancellor and Vice Chancellors must be learned in the law and must be Delaware citizens. The Magistrates in Chancery are selected by and serve at the pleasure of the Chancellor.

Chancellor Kathaleen St. J. McCormick
The Honorable Chancellor Kathaleen St. J. McCormick was sworn in as Chancellor of the Court of Chancery on May 6, 2021. Chancellor McCormick first joined the court as Vice Chancellor on November 1, 2018. Prior to joining the Court, Chancellor McCormick was a partner in the Delaware law firm Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor, LLP, where she focused her practice on litigating internal governance and corporate disputes, primarily in the Court of Chancery. Before entering private practice, Chancellor McCormick was a staff attorney with the Community Legal Aid Society, Inc.
Chancellor McCormick received her undergraduate degree from Harvard and her law degree from Notre Dame Law School. She is a Delaware native and a graduate of Smyrna High.
Vice Chancellor J. Travis Laster
The Honorable J. Travis Laster was sworn in as Vice Chancellor of the Court of Chancery on October 9, 2009. Prior to his appointment, he was one of the founding partners of Abrams & Laster LLP, a corporate law boutique specializing in high stakes litigation involving Delaware corporations and other business entities, and advising on transactional matters carrying a significant risk of litigation. Before forming Abrams & Laster, he was a director in the Corporate Department of Richards, Layton & Finger P.A. Before joining Richards Layton & Finger, he clerked for the Honorable Jane R. Roth of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Vice Chancellor Laster received his A.B summa cum laude from Princeton University and his J.D. and M.A. from the University of Virginia, where he served on the Virginia Law Review, was a member of the Order of the Coif, and received the Law School Alumni Association Award for Academic Excellence for having the best academic record in his graduating class. He is a member of the American Bar Association and Delaware State Bar Association and is active in the American Inns of Court.
Vice Chancellor Sam Glasscock III
The Honorable Sam Glasscock III was appointed as Vice Chancellor in 2011 after having served as Master in Chancery from 1999 to 2011. He was born in Erie, Pennsylvania and spent most of his youth in Lewes, Delaware. He received a B.A. in History from the University of Delaware in 1979, a J.D. from Duke University in 1983 and a Master's Degree in Marine Policy from the University of Delaware in 1989. Before coming to the Court of Chancery, he worked as a judicial clerk, as an associate at Prickett, Jones, Elliott, Kristol & Schnee in the litigation section, as a Superior Court special discovery master and as a Deputy Attorney General in the Appeals Unit of the Department of Justice.
Vice Chancellor Morgan T. Zurn
The Honorable Morgan T. Zurn was sworn in as a Vice Chancellor of the Court of Chancery on October 4, 2018, after having served as a Master in Chancery since March 2016. Before joining the Court, she was first a patent litigator and then a Deputy Attorney General at the Delaware Department of Justice. Vice Chancellor Zurn served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Richard G. Andrews of the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.
She holds a Juris Doctorate, cum laude, and a Master's degree in bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania, and holds a B.A., with distinction, from the University of Virginia. She has been admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Vice Chancellor Zurn is a member of the Delaware State Bar Association and the Richard S. Rodney American Inn of Court.
Vice Chancellor Paul A. Fioravanti, Jr.
The Honorable Paul A. Fioravanti, Jr. was sworn in as a Vice Chancellor of the Court of Chancery on February 10, 2020. Prior to joining the Court, Vice Chancellor Fioravanti was a director at the law firm of Prickett, Jones & Elliott, P.A. in Wilmington, Delaware, where he practiced for twenty-one years, with a primary focus on corporate and commercial litigation in the Court of Chancery. While in private practice, he served on the Court of Chancery Rules Committee and the Corporation Law Council of the Corporation Law Section of the Delaware State Bar Association.
Vice Chancellor Fioravanti received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Delaware and a J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he served as editor-in-chief of the Maryland Law Review. Upon graduating from law school, he served as a judicial clerk on the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland for the Honorable Ellen L. Hollander, who now serves on the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. Vice Chancellor Fioravanti is a Delaware native and a graduate of Salesianum School. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Delaware State Bar Association, and the Richard S. Rodney Inn of Court.
Vice Chancellor Lori W. Will
The Honorable Lori W. Will was sworn in as a Vice Chancellor of the Court of Chancery on May 26, 2021. Prior to joining the Court, Vice Chancellor Will was a partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, P.C., where she focused on the representation of business entities and their directors and officers in corporate, complex commercial, and federal securities litigation.
Before joining Wilson Sonsini, Vice Chancellor Will was a senior associate in the litigation department of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. She served as a law clerk to then-Vice Chancellor Leo E. Strine, Jr. after graduating from law school.
Vice Chancellor Will received her B.A. summa cum laude in both History and Government & Law from Lafayette College. She received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a graduate Certificate in Business and Public Policy from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Delaware State Bar Association, and the Richard S. Rodney Inn of Court.
Vice Chancellor Nathan A. Cook
The Honorable Nathan A. Cook was sworn in as Vice Chancellor of the Court of Chancery on July 21, 2022.
The Vice Chancellor received both his undergraduate degree and law degree from the University of Virginia. Vice Chancellor Cook was a Jefferson Scholar as an undergraduate and received a B.A., with distinction, in economics and history.
After law school, the Vice Chancellor clerked for Vice Chancellor John W. Noble of this Court. Following his clerkship, Vice Chancellor Cook litigated complex matters before the Court of Chancery on behalf of directors, officers, and stockholders.
Magistrate in Chancery Selena E. Molina
The Honorable Selena E. Molina became a Magistrate in Chancery in January 2019. Before joining the Court, she was an associate in the litigation department of Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr and previously worked as an associate at Richards, Layton & Finger. Magistrate Molina served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable William C. Carpenter, Jr. of the Delaware Superior Court and a Wolcott Fellow to the Honorable Randy J. Holland of the Delaware Supreme Court. She received her B.A. summa cum laude from Widener University and her J.D. magna cum laude from Widener University School of Law.
Magistrate in Chancery Loren Mitchell
The Honorable Loren Mitchell became a Magistrate in Chancery in December 2022. Before joining the Court, she was a Deputy Attorney General at the Delaware Department of Justice. There, Magistrate Mitchell served as General Counsel to the Department of Labor’s Division of Industrial Affairs, the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, and the Department of Health and Social Services. Magistrate Mitchell served as a law clerk in the New Jersey Superior Court. She received her BA from the University of Delaware and received her J.D. cum laude from North Carolina Central University School of Law.
Magistrate in Chancery Bonnie W. David
The Honorable Bonnie W. David became a Magistrate in Chancery in January 2023. Before joining the Court, Magistrate David
was a Counsel in the litigation department of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where she litigated before the Court of Chancery with a focus on deal litigation, corporate statutory
proceedings, and contract disputes, and advised on corporate governance and transactions.
Magistrate David graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2013, where
she served as Senior Editor on the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. She received her B.A.
from Boston University, graduating summa cum laude. Immediately after law school, Magistrate David
clerked in the Court of Chancery for Vice Chancellor Sam Glasscock III.
