 General Parking:

A small parking lot is available on East Pine and South Race Streets. Metered parking is available around the Courthouse. Non-metered on-street parking is available further down East Pine Street (towards Union Cemetery).

Juror Parking:

There is a new parking garage located on 111 E. Pine Street, directly behind the new Family Court building. Parking is free and open to the public/jurors on levels on 4 and 5. Please do not park in a reserved parking spot. The court is not responsible for tickets given by the parking attendants.

You may also utilize street parking. Street parking a block or more away from the Courthouse is not metered or limited.

Parking immediately surrounding the Courthouse is either metered for 2 hours or limited to 30 minutes. It is suggested that you not use these options as you may be in the Courthouse for longer periods. The parking lot immediately behind the Courthouse is reserved, and there are no spaces available for jury parking.

 Food and Beverage Policy:

It is the policy of Sussex Superior Court that the public is prohibited from bringing in any food or beverage item into the court house. All food and beverages items MUST be consumed outside the court house and prior to entry. Considerations will be made for medical reasons and for children. During the security screening process, a determination will be made on a case by case basis as to the legitimacy of allowing a food or beverage item into the court house. For those considerations made, the items MUST be in unopened, non-glassed container. At NO time will food or beverage items be allowed into the court rooms.

Exceptions

• Employees with a valid court house identification
• Government employees with proper identification who are assigned or conducting official business within the Sussex County Court House (SCCH)
• Individuals with medical documentation
• Impaneled Jurors

Glass containers brought in by staff should be disposed of in secured staff accessible areas only.
