the Peace Court to serve the people of Delaware by efficient and accessible
administration of justice for all, and to treat all persons with integrity,

| NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS: |

Most Justice of the Peace Court locations will be closed Monday, May 27, 2013 for the Memorial Day holiday. Only Justice of the Peace Courts 11 (New Castle County), 7 (Kent County) and 3 (Sussex County) will remain open. Justice of the Peace Court 20 (New Castle County) will close at midnight on Sunday, May 26th and will reopen at midnight on Monday, May 27th. |

| The Justice of the Peace Court has developed a Speakers Bureau, consisting of Judges and court staff to speak to local organizations about the procedures of the Court. The list of topics include civil procedure, criminal proceedings, history of the court and employment. There is no charge for a speaking engagement and our hope is to help the community better understand the processes and procedures of the Court so that individuals can more effectively use our court without confusion or frustration. |

These interactive forms for debt, replevin, and trespass actions complete the planned series that already includes an interactive online option for Landlords and Tenants to file a claim for Summary Possession and Tenants to file a claim for Return of Security Deposit. |
 WHEN COMING TO THE JUSTICE OF THE PEACE COURT, PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF APPROPRIATE ATTIRE. Read what is deemed inappropriate for court appearances and entry into a Justice of the Peace court facility. Wearing inappropriate attire and being denied entry to the courthouse will not be an excuse as to tardiness or failure to appear for any court hearing. It is in the best interest of all persons entering the court to always wear acceptable clothing as failure to appear or tardiness may result in the issuance of a capias.
