Thank you for visiting the Child Death, Near Death and Stillbirth Commission website.
Why do children die in Delaware? Which deaths may have been prevented? It is only through a comprehensive, multidisciplinary review of child deaths that we will better understand how and why children die. We use our findings to take action that can prevent other deaths and improve the health and safety of our children.
The primary purpose of reviewing child deaths is the prevention of future child deaths. The process involves a retrospective system review intended to provide meaningful, prompt, system-wide recommendations in an effort to prevent future deaths and to improve services to children. For more information please review the Delaware Child Death Review Legislation.
