The
Delaware Child Support Formula Calculation is designed to
give you a general idea of what the child support payment
may be. The Court assumes no responsibility for the accuracy
of the child support amount you determine based upon your
use of this calculation.
The
child support amount that you determine may not be the same
amount that the Family Court will order. The child support
order may be much higher or much lower, because the Family
Court makes the final decision as to what income figures
should be used in the calculation based upon the facts presented
at the hearing. In Court you and the other party will have
the opportunity to present pay stubs and tax returns to
prove the amount of your income. Changing one or both income
amounts may result in a totally different child support
payment. Furthermore, there might be other factors the Family
Court may consider, depending on the facts of your case,
which could affect the amount of the child support order.
