Overview
      The Family Court has extensive jurisdiction over all domestic matters. Information about the most frequently heard matters can be found to the right. These links provide information on each of the topic area as well as instruction books and forms to assist in filing with the Court. Filing Fee Notice: Pursuant to Senate Bill 114, beginning November 1, 2009, a $5 charge will be added to the filing fee for the following case types:  custody, custody modification, visitation, visitation modification, guardianship and permanent guardianship.
 
Cell Phone Notice: Cellular phones are not permitted in the New Castle County Courthouse or the Kent County Family Courthouse. Beginning January 1, 2010, cellular phones shall not be permitted in the Sussex Family Courthouse.
