The Delaware State Courts will be closed Wednesday, December 25, 2024 for Christmas Day. Justice of the Peace Court 11 (New Castle County) and Court 7 (Kent County) will remain open 24 hours and Justice of the Peace Court 3 (Sussex County) will be open from 6AM – 12AM (no new cases after 11:00PM).

179 12/22/2011 Rescinds Administrative Directive No. 108, Third Amendment issued on 4/11/2003. States a Judge is no longer required to file a report of marriage ceremonies performed by that Judge with the Administrative Office of the Courts. Directs a Judge officiating a marriage or civil union ceremony to be responsible for maintaining a copy or the original of the marriage or civil union form.
170 12/08/2008 Directs that Friday, December 26, 2008 shall be observed as a holiday for Courts and Agencies within the Judicial Branch of Delaware; however, they will remain in operation to the extent that is necessary to provide those same emergency and essential services as are provided on other State holidays.
