On June 26, 2018, the Delaware General Assembly enacted into law Senate Bill 235 that in sections 48 to 55 removed the statutory provisions related to the Child Placement Review Board (CPRB), bringing the work of the CPRB to a close. Requirements


Board Member Qualifications:

The CPRB statute stipulates that board member must the following criteria in order to be considered for appointment:

  1. Lived in Delaware for 12 months prior to appointment and must remain a resident of Delaware while serving on the Board.
  2. Demonstrated an interest in children and their welfare through:
    1. Community service, or
    2. Professional experience, or
    3. Possesses a background in law, sociology, psychology, psychiatry, education, theology, social work, medicine or related fields.

Volunteer Application

If you are interested in volunteering with the CPRB, you will need to complete the Governor's Board and Commissions application and submit it to the Governor's office.

Under "Section VII. Intent" enter the following:

  • Board Number "300 " and Board Name "Children Placement Review Board - New Castle" if you would like to serve on a New Castle County committee
  • Board Number "301 " and Board Name "Children Placement Review Board - Kent" if you would like to serve on a Kent County committee
  • Board Number "302 " and Board Name "Children Placement Review Board - Sussex" if you would like to serve on a Sussex County committee
  • Board Number "303 " and Board Name "Children Placement Review Board - Executive Committee" if you would like to serve on the Executive Committee.
