MEDIATION TRAINING 2008
Superior Court is pleased to announce its 2008 Mediation Training Course Schedule
(20 CLE hours) (VIEW ONLINE APPLICATION.)
 
All sessions will be held at the Buena Vista Conference Center in New Castle, Delaware.
 
The Course
 

The 20-hour training course prepares attorneys for the special role of mediator in a court context. A combination of methodologies is used in the course. Methods include attorney/mediator led core training in mediation, negotiation and conflict resolution; mediation skills practice sessions with court type cases; and mediation mentoring by veteran attorney/mediators. (20 CLE hours total; includes 2 enhanced ethics.)

 
Please Note: Attendance at all sessions, as scheduled, is mandatory in order to be certified as a Mediator.
 
The Trainer
 
The course's primary trainer, Larry Ray, Esq., is an experienced trainer who has an active history with the American Bar Association (ABA) and its Dispute Resolution Section. He has taught our Superior Court mediation training courses since the program began.

Larry Ray is an attorney, licensed in both Washington, D.C. and Ohio. He is a self-employed mediator, arbitrator, facilitator, and executive coach. He teaches at the George Washington School of Law where he was named the Professor of the Year—2003 and has been nominated again for 2008. He also teaches negotiation and business communication at the Keller Graduate School/DeVry University.

Mr. Ray provides training courses in negotiation, emotional intelligence, communication, interpersonal skills, and leading without authority for the American Management Association (AMA) and Graduate School, USDA.

He mediates for the World Banks Group, U.S.P.S., I-OPT, Inc., United States Arbitration and Mediation Services, and the National Archives.

He is co-author with Prudence Kestner of The Conflict Resolution Training Program, Jossey-Bass, 2002.

The Mentors

Our mentors comprise what one 2007 attendee called the "A-list of mediators." Among them have been former and current judges, commissioners, and the hottest, most sought-out mediators.

COURSE FEE
 

$580.00. The fee covers all course costs, continental breakfasts, beverages, and lunches. Send no check until after the 'Application Deadline' for your session. You will be notified by e-mail of your acceptance in the session, and where to send the check.

(The fee is payable by check only, after you receive notification that your application has been accepted. No refunds will be given after payment is received.)
