Family Court Resource Centers
The Family Court Resource Centers (located in the New Castle County Courthouse and the Kent and Sussex Family Courthouses) provide litigants with a central location where they can find resources they need. At the Resource Centers, litigants have access to a wide range of resources including: court forms and instructions, educational materials, a data bank of attorneys, computers, and other equipment to enable litigants to prepare for their cases at one location. Limited Legal Assistance Program (New Castle County)
The Limited Legal Assistance Program, coordinated by the Administrative Office of the Courts, provides 15 minutes of free legal assistance. Volunteer attorneys meet with eligible self-represented litigants for a one-time 15 minute meeting. The attorney will not meet with the self-represented litigant outside of the program and will not represent the litigant in court. There is no minimum income requirement for this service. For more information or to make an appointment, contact Karen Antonelli at 302-255-2599. Low-cost consultations are also available through Delaware Volunteer Legal Services’ Lawyer Referral Service.
Landlord Tenant Seminars
The Justice of the Peace Court and the Administrative Office of the Courts co-sponsor informational seminars for tenants and landlords about the landlord tenant code. This program is designed to educate both landlords and tenants about their rights and responsibilities and how to come to court prepared. For more information, click HERE.
The Delaware Commission for Women provides Do-It-Yourself Divorce Seminars. The seminars are free and open to the public.
